We all have that one pose we fall back on — the one we’ve been doing since middle school, the one we swear “works for us,” and the one we’ll defend with our whole chest even though we’ve never actually seen it from the outside.
And listen… I support you.
But let’s talk about it.
Here are the 10 universal camera poses every person does — whether they admit it or not.
Be honest with yourself:
Which one are YOU?
The classic.
The safe choice.
Leaning slightly to one side like the wind pushed you and smiling like you’re posing for a church directory.
You are reliable.
You don’t start drama.
You probably say “I don’t really take pictures like that” before taking 12.
Eyes soft.
Jaw locked like you’re about to audition for a perfume commercial.
You’ve watched one too many “How to look photogenic” TikToks…
And honestly?
It’s working for you.
Chin down.
Eyes up.
Giving “I’m mysterious,” even though your entire personality is Target runs and iced coffee.
A vibe.
Arm out.
Hand on hip.
Shoulder forward.
Smiling like there’s a crown above your head.
You learned this pose in 2009 and refused to let it go — and honestly?
I respect your commitment.
Looking away from the camera like someone just told you a mildly funny joke.
We all know you practiced this in the mirror.
And that’s okay.
You know the one.
The deep squat for no reason.
Why are you squatting?
Are you in pain?
Are you about to run?
Are you proposing?
We don’t know.
You don’t know.
But you do it every time.
If this is you…
You are fun.
Unpredictable.
Probably the friend everyone calls when they need a chaotic good time.
Also: you’re still spiritually in college, and that’s okay.
No smile.
No expression.
Just straight face.
You're giving runway energy, even though you literally just walked out of a Target.
Love the confidence.
Turning 45 degrees.
Staring off into the distance.
Pretending someone called your name when absolutely no one did.
Elite behavior.
Someone said “Smile!”
But you gave them full joy.
Dimples, teeth, head tilt, the whole moment.
You are sunshine with a camera roll.
Please never change.
It’s okay if you’re a mix of 3, 6, and 10 — this is a safe space.
And if you’re none of these?
Oh you’re REALLY chaotic.
We need to talk.
Either way, if your camera pose personality needs a glow-up, let me help you find your real angles, your real expression, and your real confidence.
Because the right pose isn’t about perfection —
it’s about personality.
And you?
You’ve got plenty.
