This food photography session took me to a quaint little Thai restaurant called Holy Khao, where every dish was as beautiful as it was delicious. From vibrant curries to flavorful Lao sausage, each plate told a story — and I was lucky enough to capture it through my lens.
Colorful Dishes, Beautifully Plated
The dishes were not only flavorful but also a delight to photograph. Each plate was carefully styled, making the shoot a pleasant and inspiring experience.
A Taste of Tradition
The owner, Amanda, shared the history of their popular Lao sausage — a recipe that began in 2020 during the pandemic. Its flavors were rich and memorable, and you can find images of it on my Instagram.
The Curry That Stole the Show
Then came the star of the day: the red curry. Every bite was a mini explosion of flavor — bold, spicy, and unforgettable. I couldn’t resist showcasing this photo because it embodies why I love photographing food: when taste and beauty collide.
Award-Winning Image
This curry photo didn’t just impress me — it won Distinguished Image in the Dallas Professional Photographers Guild and earned a Merit from the Professional Photographers of America. That recognition brings me one step closer to achieving my Master of Photography designation.
Holy Khao is more than a restaurant — it’s an experience worth tasting and sharing. If you’re in the area, check them out (and tell them their photographer sent you).
